Why synchronize your digital signage players?

Multi-Player synchronization is necessary whenever you have multiple screens within your field of vision. It’s a situation you often see in hotel lobbies, restaurants, and retail stores. Synchronizing players improves the impact of your digital signage installation by showing a common message across many screens regardless of their layout. This technique works across many technologies such as System-on-Chip screens, LED displays, and video walls.

What type of content can be synchronized?

Synchronized content can be identical or screen-specific, and as long as their duration is the same, QL Player will synchronize the content.

What sets QL Player’s synchronization feature apart is that it not only works with videos, it also works with other types of content, including templates that contain embedded objects and live data fields. Unlike other player software, QL Player synchronization works on mixed hardware types and different screen layouts. QL can also synchronize players running on different operating systems.

How does it work?

Navori’s engineers created a time stamp streamer that synchronizes each media player’s clock with QL Server, and this feature is precise to 1/20th of a second. The only requirement: the synchronized content must have the same duration across every player. Maximum gap between players: Plus or minus 2 frames on video rendering.
